I get 0 values for Old Value and New Value in Item Updating event, even though i try to update any row. For example, for COMPUTING category there will be NOTEBOOKS DESKTOPS etc. What I want to do is on the Form View_Item Updating event, I want to check the Old Values collections, use that to calculate some values and then insert them into the New Values collection. & Detailsview control for VS I have a detailsview control on my form thats linked to a sql file. However, I can't figure out how to "go to the next line." Pressing the enter key obviously doesn't work, & it doesn't like html like or . Hi, In formview we could position the controls anywhere we like and bind it to the datasource.

The formview shown in my request is our simplest page.
Passing values to the formview is not the problem - our datatable is binding well (as my original request said) and the formview is showing the data.
Our problem is to get the changed values back from the formview and I see nothing in your suggestions tto help us.
Search for formview itemupdating newvalues:
Is Post Back" - otherwise it reloads the original datatable when you postback, and you lose the new values.
